GENESIS® and PHTA strongly believe that thirdparty accreditation is paramount to the quality and validity of any educational system. With that in mind, we actively maintain accreditations through multiple authorities but primarily through IACET as described below.
Accreditation is serious business and difficult to attain. The ANSI/
IACET 1-2013 Standard for Continuing Education and Training
provides a framework that drives the quality of our programs from
responsibilities, controls, and program development to program
execution, assessment, and continuous improvement. IACET’s rules
even define minimum requirements for attendance duration versus
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) earned.
For these reasons (and basic respect for other students), we require on-time attendance, professional conduct, and other rules to be followed. Because we cannot control or monitor this at non-thirdparty accredited programs, we cannot provide credit for their education. Obviously, we cannot accept credit for classes provided by “self-accredited” educational programs.
International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET)
GENESIS® and PHTA are accredited Authorized Providers by IACET. We comply with the ANSI/IACET 1-2013 Standard for Continuing Education and Training, which is recognized internationally as a standard of excellence in instructional practices. As a result of this accreditation we are authorized to issue the IACET CEU. The number of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) is calculated as one (1) CEU equals ten (10) contact hours of learner interaction with the content of the learning activity, which includes live and online lectures, coursework, projects, exams, tours, travel, hands-on field training, self-paced instruction, pre/post assignments, and/or homework in support of a learning outcome. For more information, please visit IACET online.
