James W. Egan, Jr. has been Vice President of Research and Development at LaMotte Company, located in Chestertown, Maryland since 2012. He holds Patent # 8,734,734 for Liquid Analysis Cartridge, dated May 27, 2014. From 1990 to 2008, he was the Chief Research and Development Chemist at the company, responsible for the development of new portable reagents, colorimeters, turbidimeters, and spectrophotometers for testing water, soil and air. He coordinated with both internal and external chemists, engineers and product developers. As Director of Research and Development from 2008 to 2012, he directed product development of all test strips, tablets, powder and liquid reagents and meters for LaMotte’s Markets. In addition, he investigated the development of new, unique testing devices and sensors, primarily for the water testing markets. Mr. Egan, Jr. is a voting member of the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance’s (PHTA’s) Recreational Water Quality Committee (RWQC). Janet Lennox Moyer, IALD, an internationally known lighting designer. Jeff Farlow is the Program Manager of Energy Initiatives for Pentair and is a nationally recognized expert and speaker on energy saving opportunities in swimming pools with over 30 years’ experience in the energy conservation field. Jeff is the lead developer on energy audit software and tools to demonstrate cost effective swimming pool upgrade opportunities. Jeff leads efforts with electrical utility companies to develop incentive programs that promote energy efficient and demand response enabled pool equipment. Jeff served as a member of the Dept. of Energy rulemaking committee for federal efficiency standards of pool pumps. Joan Roca was born in Barcelona Spain in 1958, and moved to Costa Rica in 1973. He started in the swimming pool industry in 1975. Roca earned his industrial Engineering degree in 1984. Member of the APSP (former NSPI) since 1982. Certified Pool Operator by NSPF in 1986 and Certified Pool Instructor in 1988. In the ensuing years, he continued his education through more than 200 industry seminars and educational programs.
In 2003 he started in Genesis3 Design Group, and became Platinum Member and Professional Watershape Designer SWD in 2005. At 2006 Roca was certified as a CBP Certified Building Professional by APSP. Pool & Spa News honored Joan Roca as a Master Pool Designer in 2008, 2014 & 2018. In 2013 he obtained a Masters degree in INCAE Business School. Currently his head office is in Jacksonville, Florida, with his signature of JOAN ROCA MASTER POOL DESIGNER. Joan Roca's work has been internationally recognized and awarded on many occasions. Mr. Gregory was a Commercial Pool Contactor with over 40 years of experience in the design, sales, construction management and maintenance of residential and commercial pools. He has designed and built pools ranging from a few hundred square feet to several thousand. This includes filtration, chemical controls, UV light systems, variable frequency drives, flow controls and heating systems of all types. He was directly responsible for all facets of the design process, cost estimating, specifications and construction management of all commercial projects. Kevin has been working in and around swimming pools for the past 45 years. Starting as a lifeguarding, coach, and taught swimming lessons, and became certified to teach everything from infants to scuba. He trained hundreds of instructors, taught aquatic exercise classes, and conducted aquatics classes for people with disabilities. His education includes a strong science and technical background with a Bachelors’ degree from the University of Texas in Austin and graduate work at Kansas State University. Kevin has worked with a pool builder, a chemical company (BioLab), an equipment manufacturer (Sta-Rite), an importer of aquatic therapy and exercise equipment (H2OGym-US, LLC), and has consulted and trained for other swimming pool-related companies and startups. For the majority of 30 years, Kevin has built pools, provided pool service and repair, sales, troubleshooting and training. Kevin’s strength has always been teaching and training a variety of subjects and venues. Nearly five years ago, Kevin returned his focus to teaching and training full time and formed Educational Leverage, LLC with the intention of providing a variety of aquatics and swimming pool/spa related training programs.

Dorsey is President of Medallion Pool Inc., a national design and engineering firm. He obtained his BS in Civil Engineering at NC State and is a registered engineer. Dorsey began his watershape career in 2008. His very first large residential design/build project, completed before his 2 year anniversary won national attention. It was featured on the cover of Aqua Magazine, won Master Pools Guild International Grand Award runner-up, and was the only luxury project featured in the book SWIM by Lynn Sherr of ABC’s 20/20. Dorsey has continued to further distinguish his profile by designing and building some of the industries most awarded, innovative and complex projects. He and his firm is unique in that they have the expertise to design and build the entire project including structures and complete structural design. Mike entered the pool business in 1972 and worked his way to becoming Vice President of Carmen-Goody Imperial Pools. In 1980, Mike purchased Concord Pools and, through his leadership, grew the company to become the to be the nation's highest Heldor Pool Dealer, installing nearly 500 pools in 1988.
Upon the demise of several of the major steel pool manufacturers in the late '80s, Mike teamed with Latham - Pacific Pools of Latham, NY. Now, the largest Latham Pacific Pool dealer in the Country, Concord Pools was recognized as the 2005 North American Dealer of the Year by Pool & Spa News, is a member of the AQUA Magazine Hall of Fame, is a member of the Latham Pool Product Hall of Fame, a seven-time Master of Design winner, and the undisputed leader in swimming pool installation and design with over 11,000 in-ground pools within the Capital District.

Paul is a designer and architect with a wide range of professional and academic experiences. He has worked on large-scale projects ranging from skyscrapers, healthcare facilities, and performing arts centers while at Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects in New Haven, Connecticut, to small-scale civic buildings at Cherry Huffman Architects in Raleigh, North Carolina. More recently, he has collaborated with Manuel Zeitlin Architects, Van Pond Architect, William C. Johnson Architect, David Kidd Architect, Root ARCH, and Centric Architecture in Nashville, Tennessee. In conjunction with these professional activities, he has taught at the university level on an adjunct basis at such notable institutions as Wesleyan University and Connecticut College, and locally at Watkins College of Art. He holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design in Architecture from the North Carolina State University College of Design and a Master of Architecture from the Yale University School of Architecture. He also has studied in France and Spain.
